Monroe Parking Garage – Outdoor Living Walls

When you think of parking garage design and construction, what descriptive words come to mind? Bland, austere?

The new Monroe County parking garage in Bloomington, Indiana, is surprisingly different. A LiveWall brand living wall fills five of its 8 feet by 6 feet window openings with a variety of plants that bloom in shades of yellow, red, pink, purple, and green.

Many nearby buildings have second and third story window boxes with flowers. The LiveWall system put window boxes into the garage windows with 180 of its modular planter boxes.
