Grand Rapids Downtown Market Perennial Green Wall

The Downtown Market is a mixed-used retail, dining, and event space in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  The LEED Gold certified facility includes many sustainable building materials such as rainwater cisterns, green roofs, and living walls.

The largest section of green wall plants faces East toward US-131.  Two smaller sections surround the building’s south entrance on Logan St SW.  Cold-hardy perennials fill the living wall planters and the wall’s appearance evolves throughout the seasons.
